The UAE is an oil-rich country, the country's income mainly comes from oil extraction, due to the lack of natural resources, in addition to oil and natural gas, other products, from industrial raw materials, equipment to civilian daily necessities are dependent on imports! The UAE is the largest importer among Arab countries, and as an entrepot trade center in the Middle East with an import volume of 41.3 billion US dollars, the international credit rating agency has given the UAE an A2 rating in terms of national loan strength. The country's long-term policy of economic diversification has borne fruit. Entrepot trade makes a significant contribution to the country's gross domestic product, bringing in nearly $1.5 billion in revenue.
Dubai is the most important trade market and entrepot market in the Middle East, according to customs statistics: the annual trade volume of food, food machinery and hotel equipment in the Gulf region is 9 billion US dollars, of which 70% is re-exported through Dubai. Through Dubai, a trade and entrepot market, it can radiate to West Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and other regions, and its population has reached 1.4 billion. Middle Eastern countries spend $38 billion a year on wheat, barley, rice, vegetable oil, sugar, meat and children's food from abroad, accounting for about 8% of the international food market. In recent years, with the increase in population, changes in food structure and rising food prices, the demand for food in Middle Eastern countries has been increasing year by year, with an annual growth rate of 7%, while the development rate of domestic food production is very slow, with an annual growth rate of only 2%, which is far from meeting domestic demand. Middle Eastern countries import a large amount of chocolate, candy, biscuits, purified water, etc. from Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands and other places every year; China's tea, canned food, convenience food, honey, red dates, walnut kernels, sweet garlic, condiments and other specialties are in high demand locally.
To sum up, this exhibition is undoubtedly an opportunity for Chinese companies to explore the Middle East market! About 40% of the UAE's imported products are re-exported to other parts of the Middle East, Africa and Eastern European countries, and its market radiates nearly 30 countries with a total population of 1.5 billion, making it the largest commodity distribution center for various products sold to the above countries and regions.
